Events just got a serious glow up. Now you can make every event unmistakably yours with themes, fonts, and effects — go Charming for the formal, Scribble for the study session, 16-bit for game night, or full-on Wacky because, well, you've been warned. Start a new event in your existing group, or create an Event group with RSVP links and a full group chat.
Whether it's a tailgate, a birthday dinner, or the first club meeting of the semester, set the vibe before anyone even taps "Going."
🔗 Custom links: every detail, one place
Stop pasting the parking info into the chat for the fifth time. Events now support custom links so everything your guests need lives right on the event page:

Some events are "the more the merrier." Some events are "my apartment fits 12 people, max." Now you're in control of both: set a guest capacity and choose when RSVPs close, so headcounts are locked before you order the pizza.

The one you've been asking for. GroupMe now has a desktop app for both Mac and Windows — full chats, events, and members, right on your device with native notifications. Perfect for keeping up with your project group while you "take notes" in lecture. 👀
🫶 Find friends
Your people are already on GroupMe — now it's way easier to find them. The new Find friends experience gives you a For you tab with suggestions, a Friends list, and Requests, so the person you met at orientation doesn't stay "that one person from orientation" forever.
🎓 School is back in session
Every fall, millions of students run their campus lives on GroupMe – classes, clubs, dorms, intramurals, and everything in between. This year, GroupMe Campus got a major refresh.
Your school's home on GroupMe got a glow up too. Explore groups, events, and the campus directory in one place, get "You may know" suggestions from your classes and clubs, and rep your school with verified student status — so everyone knows you're the real deal.
Add campus members to a group
Building the group for your bio lab or recruiting for your club? The new Campus tab in Add members lets you search verified students at your school and filter by class year and major. See mutuals, spot people from your other groups ("You're both in Kappa Pi '25"), and add your whole section in a couple taps.
