Event sharing on GroupMe just leveled up!
You can now share events created in GroupMe with anyone, even if they're not part of your group. Recipients will receive the event invitation and, if they RSVP yes, will automatically be added to your group and be able to engage and chat with the other members!
Whether you're scheduling events for run clubs, open mic nights, fantasy football leagues, campaign events, youth sports, or volunteer opportunities, this update makes it easier to spread the word to anyone who might want to attend. Events can be shared anywhere you want, including on Instagram Stories and in Snapchat. As event attendees are automatically added to your group, it also makes it easier to grow your invite list for future events.
How to share your GroupMe Event
Select the "Share" icon in the top right of the event
Copy the link and paste anywhere! (email, blog, text message, etc.)
Create and share the QR code! This can be printed out and posted anywhere you want folks to scan and join
Share directly to Snapchat! You can easily share directly to your Snapchat story!
Clone Events
Find a past event and quickly be able to duplicate it.
Find a previous event in GroupMe
Select the "…" and click "Clone"
Maps in Event Details
Easily add the location to your event details so all your attendees know exactly where to go!
